Prudential Fox and Roach
9.2007- 8-2008
Summary
There was perhaps no worse time to begin a real estate career than in the period of 2007-2009. Well, I was one who did. Hoping to capitalize on a fairly extensive Rolodex and enthusiasm, the market was difficult even for seasoned veterans and after one year of working in commercial, industrial, multi-family, and retail property asset sales I could not generate a livable income for the needs of my family. Fortunately there were enough sales generated even with limited buyers to walk away and say the experience was very beneficial and successful and useful in future endeavors.
Lesson Learned
Always have the resources to weather a storm. Or in this case a hurricane. In hindsight I may have given up too early, but reality at the time dictated a more prudent approach and an exciting opportunity that became an outstanding success.
